Let There be Light

I had a wonderful weekend with my dear friend Tracy who came up to install lights in the manor.  She is a true light master!  I learned a lot and feel confident enough to move forward installing the rest of the lights and the chandeliers when they arrive.

We only encountered a few hiccups which were easily resolved.  I am in awe of how detailed Tracy does her wiring . . . look at this.  Braided wires!  How pretty is that?

Tracy hard at work . . .

End of the weekend and we accomplished a lot (well Tracy accomplished a lot!).

Lights in the manor . . .

Two black holes - waiting for chandeliers . . .

Two wall sconces and a ceiling light in the second floor hall . . .

The breakfast room . . .

Lights on the bedroom vanity . . .

Work continues on the manor with exterior lighting and basement lights.  Then finishing up the wallpapering and moving onto the flooring and trim.  And those dormer windows . . .

  1. Although it can be a BIG PAIN; lighting makes a world of differnce to a dollhouse &/or roombox and Tracy has made yours Come Alive!
She obviously knows her stuff as the results are clean and neat AND most importantly-
you are BOTH still smiling! :D

    1. Thank you Elizabeth! Yes, lights really bring a dollhouse to life. Tracy builds beautiful OOAK dollhouses and knows all kinds of hints and tricks. It helps to have Jelly Bellies, M&M's, chocolate, licorice and a man who cooks for you all weekend! LOL!

  2. It's truly magical to see a dollhouse all lighted! What an incredible accomplishment to have the majority of it completed in one weekend! I bet you're feeling inspired and excited to continue on after seeing your dream so beautifully progressing! It was so kind of Tracy to pass her knowledge on, and I am sure you'll put it to use expertly when the chandeliers arrive!
